Attarat Oil Shale Power Plant is located within the oil shale mining area approximate 110km south of Amman, the Capital of Jordan. The power plant is invested and constructed by ATTARAT POWER COMPANY, a joint venture created by YTL Malaysia, Guangdong Yudean Group and Estonia Energy. The project will be a nominal 2x235MW (net) oil shale fired power plant utilizing CFB boilers. GPEC is the EPC contractor of this project.
The fuel used for this project is local oil shale, featured with low thermal value and high ash content. The largest CFB boiler for oil shale at current in the world provided by Foster Wheeler will be utilized for this project. Design bottom ash output for each boiler will be 301t/h while that under worst condition will be 501t/h. There is no precedent for such a large bottom ash output with single boiler, which is extremely challenging.
SONGLING had successfully made delivery for 2nd lot, i.e. totally 24 sets of rotary ash cooler used for Unit #2 in the middle of September 2019.
